New Mac mini! 0

Im a fan of mac products. They are expensive no doubt, but the strength in their product lies in their design, use of materials, some of which are free from toxic chemicals and environmentally harmful manufacturing processes and last but not least, reliability.

The power of the Internet as a tool for collaboration 0

Jan25

I read Thomas L Friedman’s book, The World is Flat many years ago, and I still find the book an amazing read. A true visionary, he describes in detail the forces that truly flatten the earth, such as the fall of the Berlin Wall, the invention of the internet, the standardization of collaborative tools and the empowerment of individuals and globalization as the result of the these forces.  continue reading »

American Idol and what Mankind can possibly do to the world. 0

Jan23

I have been following the first few episodes of the latest American Idol, now in its ninth season. Itwas hilarous to see some of the worst and most outrageous singing auditions in the history of television. But while watching, it dawned upon something that I never really thought of much, but at the same time, a good observation that parallels between American Idol and what the psyche and consciousness of the people can potentially do to the world. continue reading »

Charlie Francis’s death. Did he deserve it? 0

You know, I was watching episode 11, season 2 of Fringe, and it was one of the unaired episodes from season 1. Fringe is back after the holiday break and the unaired episode has Charlie Francis back as the cast member in the series. I recently met up with a good friend of mine. He was also from the same camp in which I served during my NS days.  He was my upperstudy upperstudy (2 generations up, so I don’t know him prior to being in the camp as he already ORD), and was introduced to him by another friend of mine. He got me a souvenir which I think was pretty nifty. An unstable base of a cup meant to scare and trick people into believing that the cup would actually topple and spill the water, but would otherwise be perfect stable. We had lunch and we were talking (or rather I was listening) to his backpacking trips to Southeast Asian countries and his more recent Northern India trip. It was fascinating. continue reading »

Social Media is not a fad 0

We live in a world where information flows so fast, so freely, so easily that it become second nature to us. It has reached a point, where the fabric of our lifestyles are more of less dictated by what we hear, see and read through social websites. Our lives with other people are increasingly connected, yet distant at the same time.

My first presentation done on iWorks 09 0

Ok call me a Mac noob, but you have got to give me some credit for what I have done in 2 hours just by self exploration. I have created a short presentation, using the Keynote presentation software. I used it with minimal help and most of the time was just meddling around with the program, trial and errors along the way. I mentioned the other day that I tinkled with the Mac, well folks, I present you my first presentation done using iWorks 09 Keynote presentation software!
